Saddle Up for the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo: A Celebration of Community, Entertainment, and Tradition
Excitement is building as the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo (FBCFR) prepares to swing open its gates once again from September 20 to October 6, 2024. With an eclectic mix of artists and activities, the FBCFR offers a world of fun and entertainment for all attendees.
The FBCFR has a rich history dating back to its first event in 1933. Originally held between Richmond and Rosenberg, FBCFR moved to its current location on State Highway 36 in Rosenberg. Today, it's not only one of the largest and most successful fairs in Texas but also a celebration of community spirit and youth education, offering scholarships to deserving students for attendance at Texas colleges and universities.
Attendees can look forward to another vibrant event packed with activities and attractions. Expect thrilling rodeo competitions like bull riding and barrel racing, showcasing top rodeo talent. Enjoy a wide selection of carnival rides and games suitable for both kids and adults, along with a delicious array of fair food including classics like corn dogs and funnel cakes.

The entertainment lineup includes ten musical artists who will add to the festivities during the BBQ cookoff weekend and throughout the 10-day fair. The show promises an adventurous mix of Texas Music, Traditional Country, and Tejano genres. "Our entertainment lineup is packed with talent, providing music for all to enjoy," said Alicia Casias, 2024 President of the Fort Bend County Fair.
Artists like David Lee Garza and Los Musicales, known for their progressive Conjunto and Tejano music, and Braxton Keith with his engaging honky-tonk storytelling are scheduled to perform during the BBQ cookoff weekend. Opening weekend features performances from Drake Milligan, best known for his portrayal of Elvis Presley on the CMT series Sun Records, William Beckmann, a favorite son of Del Rio with a unique baritone sound, and De Parranda, known for their high-energy shows and cumbia sounds.
In a first for the fair, Red - A Taylor Swift Tribute Band will take over midweek on October 2, promising an unforgettable concert experience for all Swifties in attendance.
The fun continues with Zach Top bringing his old-school country vibe on October 3 and Jason Boland & The Stragglers renowned for their Oklahoma and Texas music movements, performing on October 4. Crowds can look forward to Randall King's country music sets on October 5, while Rick Trevino, a fan favorite, will close out the fair on October 6.
