Trash Collection Guidelines
Service Limits
Each household is provided one 95-gallon Tiger trash cart. The cart lid must close completely. In many areas, residents may request an additional cart for an extra fee. Trash beyond the cart limit is considered bulk waste and may incur additional charges. To schedule a bulk pickup or inquire about fees, residents may call 210-333-4287.
Prohibited Materials
Trash service is limited to standard residential Municipal Solid Waste. The following materials cannot be collected:
- Hazardous or special waste
- Construction or demolition debris
- Batteries, tires, oils, antifreeze, liquid paint or chemicals
- Dirt, rock, sand, or other heavy materials
- Individual bulk items must not exceed 35 pounds
- Tree limbs or brush must be tied in bundles under 35 pounds and shorter than four feet.

Recycling Guidelines
Recycling Limits
Each household may set out one 95-gallon Tiger recycle cart.
Accepted Materials
Residents may place the following clean, dry, unbagged recyclables in the cart:
- Cardboard
- Newspaper and magazines
- Loose office paper
- Plastics labeled #1–7
- Aluminum beverage cans
- Steel and tin cans
Accepted items may change as recycling markets evolve.
Unacceptable Materials
Recycling carts must NOT contain:
- Bagged items of any kind
- Glass
- Food waste or food-soiled cardboard/paper
- Textiles (carpet, bedding, clothing, etc.)
- Electronics, cords, or holiday lights
- Plastic bags, film, or sheeting
- Yard waste, dirt, wood, or construction debris
- Styrofoam or packing foam
- Scrap metal, auto parts, or tires
Contamination Policy
Carts containing prohibited materials may be tagged and not serviced. Residents must remove contaminants before the next collection day. Excess contamination can cause entire loads to be sent to the landfill, so community participation is essential for maintaining a clean recycling stream.
Cart Care and Placement
Responsibility for Carts
Tiger carts remain in the resident’s care and must be maintained properly. Repairs for normal wear—such as broken lids or wheels—can be requested by logging into the resident account on Tiger Sanitation’s website. The cart must be curbside for exchange.
Lost, stolen, or misused carts may be replaced for a $100 fee.
Proper Cart Placement
- To ensure efficient collection:
- Place carts at least 6 feet away from obstructions such as vehicles or mailboxes.
- Position carts no more than 36 inches from the roadway.
- Leave 4 feet of space between carts, with handles facing the home or fence.
- Keep vehicles clear of carts and bulk items on service days.
