Garbage is collected every Wednesday.

Waste Management is only closed on three days: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

• Place trash carts out by morning on Wednesday for pickup.
• Ensure all materials go inside the carts — avoid setting loose items beside them.
• Keep carts clear of obstructions (vehicles, mailboxes, etc.) so the automated arm on the WM truck can empty them properly.
• For bulk pickups (furniture, appliances) or extra containers, contact the City’s Utility Billing Department.
• If you have brush or yard waste, check the City’s brush-pickup zone calendar to know when collection comes.

What You Should / Shouldn’t Put in Carts

The City provides guidance on acceptable vs. unacceptable materials:

Accepted: typical household garbage and properly rinsed recyclables in your recycle cart. 
Not accepted: hazardous waste, large bulk items placed beside the cart (unless scheduled with bulk pickup), construction debris, electronics, tires, certain metals — these typically require special disposal arrangements.

Bulk Items, Brush & Special Services

For yard waste / brush pickup, there is a separate schedule: the City is divided into zones and picks up brush on a rotating basis. Residents place brush at the curb on the weekend before their scheduled week.
