About My Neighborhood News

Who We Are

My Neighborhood News is an innovative leader in the hyperlocal news sector, supporting communities throughout the Greater Houston Area. As neighbors helping neighbors, we believe that together, we can help our communities flourish through the power of civic engagement.

In addition to community news and resources, we offer customized neighborhood webpages aimed to inform, inspire and connect residents. We are privileged to support our readers in our shared goal of creating a vibrant community that we are proud to call "home".

How We Got Here

In 1979, Johnny's parents started Krenek Printing, a small printing business that published neighborhood newsletters for subdivisions in the West Houston Area. Over the years, their coverage area grew to include over 100 neighborhoods across West Houston, Cypress, Katy, and Fulshear, thanks to meaningful partnerships with local civic organizations, libraries, schools, local businesses, HOAs and community members. So that we could offer more resources, support more communities and reduce our carbon footprint, we went digital with the creation of My Neighborhood News in 2021, bringing our printed newsletters to life in a whole new way.

How It Works

We publish hyperlocal news, events, resources and lifestyle pieces that are aimed to enrich the lives of our readers. On MNN, readers will find news and events from local organizations and community members, as well as curated lifestyle pieces focused on personal wellness, resourcefulness and community engagement. We aim to be a positive source of news and information that lifts up the communities we proudly serve.

Giving a new meaning to "hyperlocal", we also offer customized neighborhood webpages that provide a platform for residents to stay informed of what's happening in their neighborhood.  Learn about upcoming neighborhood events, find governing documents, get connected with a neighborhood group, and much more. Don't see your neighborhood? Ask us how we can build a neighborhood webpage for your subdivision.

To keep our readers in the loop so they never miss a beat, subscribe to your greater community or neighborhood to receive fresh, targeted news in your inbox once per week. In each digest email, readers can learn about upcoming events, latest local news, ways to get involved in your community, lifestyle tips and much more.

This site is fully funded by local business advertisements so we can keep this resource free to our readers. When readers utilize the goods and services provided by our advertisers, they not only support this website but they also support their community. Investing in your local economy creates jobs, promotes diversity, and puts your money right back into your community.

We want you to be a part of the conversation! Submit your news and events to us and we will help you spread the word to fellow community members. Together, as neighbors helping neighbors, we can make a meaningful difference and strengthen our communities.
