Governors Place ACC Form

Planning to make changes to the outside of your home or yard? Most exterior modifications in Governors Place require advance approval from the HOA through an Exterior Modification Request (EMR).

Submitting an EMR ensures that improvements align with community guidelines and help protect home values across the neighborhood.

How to Submit an EMR

Governors Place partners with Crest Management, your community management company, for all EMR submissions.

To apply:

Visit crest-management.com/EMRLogin
Log in to your homeowner dashboard
Click “Exterior Modification Request Form” and follow the prompts

You’ll be asked to upload supporting documents like your lot survey, material samples, or plans.

What Needs HOA Approval?

Any change to the exterior of your home or lot, including:

Fence or gate changes
Roof replacements
Exterior paint or siding
Patio covers, additions, or pergolas
Pools, sheds, or playsets
Driveway or sidewalk modifications
Landscaping redesigns

Even changes not visible from the street—such as backyard structures—must be reviewed.

Who Reviews EMRs?

EMRs are reviewed by the Architectural Control Committee (ACC). Some governing documents may refer to this group as the ARC, MRC, or Home Improvement Committee.

Timelines & Deposits

Review Time: Most EMRs are processed within 30 days
Deposits: If required, they must be paid by check or money order, made payable to Crest Management. Include your address and project details.

Other Reminders

City/County Permits: Separate from HOA approval. Check with the City of Katy or Harris County to confirm what permits are required.
Lot Survey: Provided at closing. If misplaced, contact your title company.
