Westheimer Lakes Trash & Recycling Service

ATTENTION - NEW WASTE PROVIDER BEGINNING AUGUST 1st
The Board of Directors for Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 142 (FBCMUD 142) would like to notify residents of a change in Waste Collection Provider starting August 1, 2022, which will be Best Trash Inc.

There are some IMPORTANT Actions that each resident will need to help with in this transition starting the last week of July.

Waste Management, the current provider, will be sending out postcards to everyone the week of July 18. It will outline the following critical dates for cart removal:

Recycle Cart Removal:
Beginning on Wednesday, July 27 and continuing through Friday, July 29. Leave empty carts on the curb during this time period until the cart has been removed.

Waste Cart Removal:
Beginning on Saturday, July 30 through Tuesday, August 2. Leave empty carts on the curb during this time period until the cart has been removed.

Please note: No removal activity will occur on Sunday, July 31. Removal of all containers is to be completed by Tuesday, August 2.

Effective August 3, 2022, Best Trash will be collecting waste from residents on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with recycling being collected on Wednesdays. Bulk Trash will be collected on both days, as needed. Prior to the first collection day, Best Trash will be providing each resident with a 65-gallon trash cart and a 65-gallon recycling cart. These will be slightly smaller than what residents of FBCMUD 142 are used to, and there will be some adjustment. The size difference is for the safety of the waste collection professionals, and to encourage residents to more proactively separate recycling items from trash items.

TIPS AND REMINDERS
Remember: Unless it is trash pick up day, your trashcans (and any bags of trash) must be hidden from public view. Please do not store your trashcans in front of your garage or on the side of your home - your neighbors don’t want to look out their windows and see your garbage either. Please be respectful and only place trash out on specific trash days.

Please help us keep our community clean by NOT DUMPING trash and debris onto empty lots. Neighbors please report violators and be ready to provide license plate number and photo or any other pertinent information.
