National Charity League Star Chapter Celebrates Class of 2025’s Heartfelt Commitment to Service

January 19 2025

The National Charity League (NCL) Star Chapter’s Class of 2025 has been a shining example of selflessness and dedication to community service. Over the past six years, these young women, alongside their mothers, have collectively volunteered over 6,640 hours, supporting more than 25 local organizations that provide critical services to those in need. Their efforts reflect the very heart of the NCL mission: fostering mother-daughter relationships through meaningful community service, leadership development, and cultural awareness.

Among the organizations they’ve supported is The Brookwood Community, an organization that provides vocational training and employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. The Class of 2025 also helped at Katy Christian Ministries, which offers food, clothing, and financial assistance to families in need, and The Ballard House, a home for families who travel to Katy for medical care, providing them with a place to stay during difficult times. These young women also served at Neighborhood Kidz Club, which helps at-risk youth by providing after-school programs and mentoring, and Citizens for Animal Protection, which works tirelessly to rescue and find homes for abandoned pets.

In addition to these vital causes, the seniors volunteered at Fort Bend Women’s Center, supporting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and The Hangar, a resource that helps youth at risk of dropping out of school. Their commitment also extended to The Graeme McDaniel Foundation, which provides support for families with children facing medical challenges, and Texas Children’s Pediatrics, where they offered assistance to children and families in need of care. They contributed to the Monty Ballard YMCA, which provides a safe place for kids and families to grow stronger together, and Clothed by Faith, a nonprofit that provides free clothing to individuals and families facing hardship.

As they reflect on their time in the NCL, these young women have not only gained leadership experience through board positions and committee roles, but they’ve also grown closer as a team, learning to work together to organize events like the Holiday Philanthropy Fair and the Mother-Daughter Tea. “The Class of 2025 has truly set an example for future generations of NCL members,” said Christine Chapman, Publicity Chair for the NCL Star Chapter. “Their commitment to service and leadership is a testament to their character and the values they hold dear.”

The Class of 2025’s resilience has also been tested by sorrow. This year, the chapter faced the loss of a fellow member, yet these remarkable young women have continued to support each other and their community, honoring their friend’s memory through continued acts of service. "They have shown such grace through hardship," said Chapman. "Their strength and unity have made them not just leaders, but true role models for our entire chapter, honoring the memory of their NCL sister."

As they graduate, the Class of 2025 leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service. Their impact on the Katy community is immeasurable, and their example will undoubtedly inspire future classes of NCL Star Chapter members to continue their work, making a difference in the lives of others for years to come.
