The Arc of Katy has a new leader at the helm—one whose heart for community service and proven track record in nonprofit leadership promises to take the organization’s impact to new heights.
Sandy August officially began her role as Executive Director on July 14, 2025. With nearly two decades of experience driving mission-focused growth and fostering strong partnerships, she steps into the role ready to build on The Arc of Katy’s legacy of inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
A Leader With Purpose
August’s career spans 18 years of strategic leadership, most recently serving as Director of Major Gifts at St. Francis Episcopal School in Houston. Her work has long been rooted in lifting up others through philanthropy and connection—qualities that made her a standout candidate to lead The Arc of Katy.
“Sandy emerged as the clear choice amongst a highly qualified pool to lead The Arc of Katy into its next chapter,” said Cherie Duddridge, President of the Board of Directors. “Her strategic mindset, relational leadership style, and unwavering dedication to building communities where everyone can participate fully and live with purpose make her uniquely qualified to guide our mission forward.”
