CFISD Student of the Week: Nico Weinhauer Â
Jersey Village High School senior Nico Weinhauer excels both inside and outside of the classroom, as she is a member of the National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society, and also serves as a mentor on campus.
School: Jersey Village High School | Age: 17 | Grade: 12
Accomplishments: Weinhauer made the cross country team’s lineup as a freshman and was the varsity cheer squad’s lone sophomore a year later. She’s a member of both the National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society, and also serves in the mentor program.
Favorite class: “My favorite class is college algebra. It feels like a break from pre-calculus.”
Favorite things to do after class: “Talk and laugh with my friend, Gia, go see live music and hang out with my boyfriend.”
Favorite song: “Time by Pink Floyd.”
Favorite website/app: “Instagram is my favorite.”
Favorite TV show: “Shameless is what I am watching now. It makes me feel better to know my problems could be worse.”
Favorite movie: “La La Land opened the doors to musicals for me. It’s a door with a long-winding path.”
Ambition: “To get into college—hopefully Texas A&M University. To become an orthodontist. I would like to be comfortable in my adult life.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “Gymnastics as I was competitive at a very young age. It shaped a part of who I am. I am going to work to keep it in my life in some way, either through coaching or recreationally.”
What inspires you?: “Simone Biles inspires me.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “My mom, fast food and clothes shopping.”
What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I am looking forward to graduating.”
