CFISD Inducts 2022 Wall of Fame Class

Seven honorees of distinction were recognized and inducted into the 2022 Wall of Fame for their commitment and contributions to the educational experience of Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. The 28th annual ceremony recognized employees for significant achievements during the 2021-2022 school year.
Dr. Mark Henry, superintendent of schools, served as master of ceremonies for the annual event, held Monday, Sept. 26 at the Berry Center. The Cypress Woods High School Air Force JROTC welcomed the honorees and guests with a line of honor. A Cy-Fair High School orchestra quartet performed for all the guests.

at the Berry Center. The Jarrars are longtime supporters of the CFISD Livestock Show and Sale,
donating nearly $1.5 million since 2003.
Five CFISD employees were honored for their professional achievements at the state and national levels, along with two recipients of the Friend of Education award, which is presented to a community member who has made major contributions to enhance the educational experiences of CFISD students.
The 2022 Friends of Education award was presented to:
- Mike and Darlene Jarrar of Jarrar & Company, Inc., who have donated nearly $1.5 million to student projects at the CFISD Livestock Show and Sale since 2003.
The 2022 Wall of Fame inductees are:
- Darin Crawford, assistant superintendent of support services for CFISD. He was honored for being named 2021 president of the Texas Association for School Nutrition. Crawford has a total of 15 years in education, all of which have been in CFISD;
- Kim Klenk, coordinator of transportation customer care and systems support for the Falcon Transportation Center. She was honored for being named Innovator of the Year by the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation. Klenk has a total of 16 years in education, all of which have been in CFISD;
- Adam Porter, charter bus driver at the Eldridge Transportation Center. He was honored for being named Rookie of the Year by the Texas Association for Pupil Transportation. Porter has a total of four years in education, two of which have been in CFISD;
- Dr. Kayne Smith, director of transportation for CFISD. He was honored for being named director of the year by School Transportation News. Dr. Smith has a total of 18 years in education, eight of which have been in CFISD; and
- Michael Marucci, head swimming and diving coach for Cypress Woods High School. He was honored for being named the 2020-2021 Texas Boys Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations Coaches Association. Marucci has a total of five years in education, all of which have been in CFISD.
