Cameron Dickey Appointed Harris County ESD No. 9 Commissioner for Cy-Fair Fire Department
The Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9 (HCESD9) Board officially welcomed Cameron Dickey as its newest Commissioner during the district’s August 6, 2025, swearing-in ceremony. Dickey’s appointment, which was confirmed at the July 2025 HCESD9 meeting, brings a well-known and highly respected voice in Cypress business and civic life to the five-member governing body.
Dickey, who has served as President and CEO of Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union since 2012, is recognized across the region not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his deep community involvement. His leadership has helped guide the credit union to multiple business and community honors, culminating in being named the 2023 Credit Union Professional of the Year and receiving the 2021 World Council Distinguished Service Award.

Before joining Cy-Fair FCU, Dickey served as Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Stewart Title and was one of Oregon’s youngest credit union CEOs at Providence Health System Federal Credit Union. His career is complemented by more than two decades of global service through the World Council of Credit Unions, mentoring credit union leaders around the world since 2003.
In 2025, Dickey concluded nine years of service on the board of Reach Unlimited, a local nonprofit supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including three terms as Board Chair. Until this month, he also served as Board President of the Harris County Water Control Improvement District #157, which oversees drainage and recreational facilities for more than 4,000 residents. Looking ahead, he is slated to join the board of Houston Methodist Hospital in Cypress in early 2026.
HCESD9 — which operates as the Cy-Fair Fire Department following its merger with the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department in 2020 — is responsible for providing fire suppression and ambulance services across the Cy-Fair area. Established in 1984, the district is a taxing entity governed by five commissioners who serve four-year terms and must be residents or property owners within the district. Funding comes from property taxes and sales tax, supporting one of the busiest fire and EMS service providers in Texas.

His combination of private-sector leadership, nonprofit governance experience, and long-standing volunteer service positions him to contribute meaningfully to the district’s mission of protecting lives and property.
For Cypress residents, his selection also reflects a continuing tradition of local leaders stepping into public service roles that directly impact the safety and quality of life in the area.
