26 Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Schools Named to 2025 Texas Honor Roll

West Houston / Cypress  /  West Houston / Cypress
April 16 2026

For many families in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, school performance is an ongoing conversation—whether it’s tied to student progress, future planning, or simply understanding how local campuses compare across the state.

This year, that conversation includes a new data point. A total of 26 CFISD schools have been named to the 2025 Texas Honor Roll by the Educational Results Partnership (ERP), a nonprofit organization that evaluates academic performance across public schools in Texas.

The recognition is based on sustained performance over time, highlighting campuses that consistently scored above state averages on STAAR assessments across multiple student groups and grade levels.

How the Texas Honor Roll Is Determined

To qualify for the ERP Texas Honor Roll, schools must exceed state averages on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) at least 80% of the time. The 2025 list reflects a three-year data window, covering academic performance from 2023 through 2025.

Only about 15% of eligible schools statewide met the criteria this year.

ERP’s work centers on using data science and long-term student outcome tracking to better understand what contributes to academic success. The organization maintains one of the largest longitudinal databases in the country, connecting K-12 performance with future education and workforce outcomes, with a focus on identifying patterns that support equity and opportunity.

What This Means for Local Families

Recognitions like the Texas Honor Roll offer a snapshot of academic performance, particularly because they reflect consistency across multiple years and student populations. For those searching for CFISD school ratings, best schools in Cypress, or comparing Houston-area districts, this type of data can help inform decisions.

At the same time, it represents just one measure among many. Factors like campus culture, programs, extracurricular opportunities, and individual student needs often play just as significant a role in how families evaluate schools.

Looking Ahead

The full list of 2025 Texas Honor Roll schools and districts is available through the Educational Results Partnership. As Cypress-Fairbanks ISD and the surrounding area continue to evolve, academic performance—and how it’s measured—will likely remain part of the broader community conversation.
