600 Students Attend Lamar CISD's Camp Connect & GT Camp Invention
For the last three weeks, 600 Lamar CISD students transformed into campers to get out of the house and keep cool at Lamar CISD's fun, interactive summer programs like Camp Connect and GT Camp Invention at Bowie Elementary.
Camp Connect provided hands-on activities for currently enrolled first, second, third and fourth graders that cultivated wonder and exploration. "Kids Fit & Fun" was featured by YMCA helping kids develop skills to improve health through play. Additionally, students took on the role of pet vet and performed surgery on their robot dog, created original artwork based on math and science concepts, and watched an epic live performance from Books Alive.
GT Camp Invention brought to life STEM enrichment where students built creative inventions and lasting friendships. Campers discovered engineering concepts while building robots, exploring coding, and learning innovative ways robots enhance productivity.
