Seismique Reopens in West Houston With Bold New Vision and Glow-in-the-Dark Attractions
A fan-favorite destination for families, artists, tech-lovers, and curious minds alike, Seismique in West Houston is preparing to unveil its next chapter. On Tuesday, February 6, 2026, the 40,000-square-foot interactive art museum will officially host its exclusive, invitation-only Grand Re-Opening, signaling new leadership and a renewed focus on community, creativity, and immersive entertainment.
Known for its over-the-top installations and “intergalactic playground” vibe, Seismique has long been one of Houston’s most visually stunning—and sensorially overwhelming—venues. Since first opening in December 2020, the space has grown from an art-tech experiment into a major community hub blending STEM education, immersive storytelling, and vibrant nightlife. Now under new management, the venue is embracing a more localized mission: supporting Houston-area artists, giving back through partnerships, and deepening its role as a cultural anchor on the city’s west side.
A Multisensory Journey Through Art, Tech, and Imagination
Located at 2306 S Texas 6, Houston, TX 77077, the Seismique experience defies traditional museum boundaries. The venue’s 40+ “galaxies” are immersive environments where guests can wander freely, interacting with projection mapping, motion tracking, LED sculptures, responsive soundscapes, and surreal illusions. It's art you can walk through, play in, and sometimes even climb.
Popular installations include:
-
The Hub: A glowing centerpiece with a 70-foot spaceship illuminated by 1 million LEDs. Fog-filled “calming bubbles” drop from its thrusters, delighting visitors.
-
Venus: A towering, rainbow-colored crochet playground by artist Toshiko Horiuchi MacAdam, which kids and adults can actually climb.
-
Alien Grass: A glowing landscape of LED orbs and infinity mirrors that feels otherworldly.
-
Eden: A blacklight wonderland of oversized extraterrestrial trees and holographic beings.
-
Brainwash: A pulsating room of 200+ screens synced to music and motion.

What's New for 2026: Hope, Glow Golf, and The Drinque
The Grand Re-Opening will mark the launch of several new features and programs. Most notably, Seismique will debut its Wall of Hope, showcasing original art by local creators in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Another new addition is The Hope Room, a gallery dedicated entirely to artwork created by children receiving treatment at St. Jude. These heartfelt additions tie Seismique’s mission of creativity to real-world impact.
The re-opening will also introduce:
-
Glow-in-the-Dark Mini Golf: An indoor 18-hole course woven into the artistic landscape.
-
Expanded Arcade: Featuring air hockey, monster karts, and VR attractions like Halo and Rilix.
-
The Drinque: A neon cocktail bar with wall-to-wall screens, live music, sports, and curated events.
To help navigate it all, guests can use the Seismique Mobile App, which interacts with exhibits, triggers sound and light effects, and helps visitors find their way through the non-linear maze of galleries.
Grand Re-Opening Event Details

A Local Legacy and a Vision for the Future
Seismique was co-founded by Steve Kopelman and Josh Corley with a vision of blending art, science, and technology into a one-of-a-kind experience. Built inside a repurposed Bed Bath & Beyond, the venue became one of Houston’s most visually recognizable spaces. Kopelman, a longtime entertainment producer, drew inspiration from immersive art collectives like Tokyo’s teamLab and worked with over 65 artists and technologists to bring the concept to life—including reserving nearly a quarter of the galleries for Houston-based creatives.
Beyond the spectacle, Seismique has embedded itself into the city’s educational fabric, offering STEAM field trips, workshops, and collaborations with organizations like iUrban Teen to empower underrepresented youth in Houston’s underserved areas.
Planning Your Visit
Timed-entry tickets are recommended and can be booked through Seismique’s website. VIP access options are available for guests who prefer expedited entry or additional perks. Due to safety and space, strollers and large bags are not permitted, and guests are advised to wear flat shoes for optimal comfort. Visitors with sensory sensitivities should be aware that many rooms include intense lights, loud sounds, and visual effects.
With its reimagined offerings and renewed mission, Seismique invites Houstonians and tourists alike to experience something truly out of this world—right in the heart of West Houston.
