Tomball ISD Recognizes Its Own Through Student2Staff Initiative

November 03 2023

Tomball ISD alumni are proud. They are proud of the traditions, success and hometown feel their community offers. They have seen it grow and thrive, and more importantly, many still call it home.

In fact, over 200 current Tomball ISD employees graduated from a Tomball ISD high school, and now give back to the school district they once were a part of as students. And in honor of these individuals, Tomball ISD has begun a new initiative called Student2Staff, recognizing those individuals with a coveted yard sign to showcase their pride and loyalty to this school district and community.

The initiative recognized teachers, administrators, and staff representing child nutrition, transportation, custodial, maintenance, special education, CTE, curriculum and instruction.

Yard signs will continue to be distributed to alumni throughout the school year as new hires are made.

The vision of Tomball ISD is “Tomball ISD students will lead in creating the future.” For that, we are extremely fortunate to have over 200 of those once students now giving back to public education and serving our future generation.

FROM TOMBALL ISD ALUMI

“Serving the students of Tomball ISD, having once been a student here myself, means a lot to me. I understand the challenges and opportunities they face because I've been in their shoes. This personal connection drives me to provide the best education and support possible. Being a former student here gives me a sense of pride and a strong connection to the community. I want to contribute to the growth and success of our students, just as this district did for me.”
- Tori Cates, Advanced Academics Specialist at Oakcrest Intermediate

“Being able to serve the students and staff in Tomball ISD is a way for me to give back to the community that helped shape me into who I am today. I was treated with love and support by all who worked with me as a student, and I hope to be a small part of that same love and support for someone else.”
- Collin Nicholas, Assistant Principal at Creekside Park Junior High

“I love working and raising my children in the same district where I grew up. Having once been in their shoes, I feel that I can be a more authentic member of the school community and have a genuine connection to the students.”
- Sarah Wade, Teacher, Early Excellence Academy
