Parade of Lights Returns to Cy-Fair December 7, 2025: A Beloved Holiday Tradition Supporting Texas Volunteer Firefighters
A cherished Cy-Fair tradition will once again light up the holiday season. The 28th annual Parade of Lights, hosted by the Texas Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Fund (TVFFRF), returns on Sunday, December 7, 2025, promising a magical evening of illuminated fire trucks, decorated floats, and heartwarming community spirit—all in support of volunteer firefighters across Texas.
Each year, the streets of Northwest Houston, especially through Bear Creek and Copperfield along Highway 6, are transformed into a glowing celebration as fire apparatus and community-decorated vehicles roll out in dazzling display. Crowds of families line the route, bundled up for the crisp December air, waving to their local heroes and catching a glimpse of Santa Claus himself, who traditionally closes the parade atop a fire engine.
The event not only celebrates the holiday season—it also serves a vital mission: raising funds for volunteer firefighters facing personal hardship.
“Help Us Help Our Own”
Since 1997, the Texas Volunteer Firefighters’ Relief Fund has provided critical financial support to firefighters and their families after catastrophic events—whether it’s the death of a loved one, a devastating home loss, or serious medical emergencies. The Parade of Lights is the fund’s signature fundraising event, and every registration fee, sponsorship, and donation contributes directly to that cause.

“Through the parade, we hope to raise both awareness and funds to assist volunteer firefighters in need,” said Barbara Dorr, event coordinator for the Relief Fund. “It’s a way for us to say ‘thank you’ for their tireless service and support them when they need it most.”
