Montessori Reggio Academy of Katy Brings Innovative Early Childhood Education to Local Families
Katy families seeking a dynamic early childhood education option will soon have a new opportunity with the upcoming opening of Montessori Reggio Academy of Katy in March 2025. The Academy, known for its unique blend of Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, aims to provide a child-centered learning environment that fosters creativity, independence, and critical thinking.
A Vision for Holistic Early Childhood Learning
Montessori Reggio Academy of Katy is part of a growing network of schools dedicated to innovative education. With an already successful location in Sugar Land, the Academy chose Katy for expansion due to its vibrant, family-oriented community and strong commitment to educational excellence.
“The Katy community is known for its dedication to education and diversity, making it the perfect place to introduce our Montessori and Reggio-inspired learning approach,” said Alma Matthews, Principal of Montessori Reggio Academy of Katy. “We are excited to provide families with a nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love for learning.”
With over 12 years of experience in education and early childhood development, Matthews brings a wealth of knowledge to her leadership role. Originally from the Philippines, she transitioned from a background in human resource management to special education, focusing on autism and ADHD. After moving to the United States, she discovered her passion for early childhood education, working her way from toddler teacher to school director. Her diverse experience plays a vital role in shaping the Academy’s approach to individualized learning.
