Families in The Woodlands and nearby communities have something to smile about this summer—The Woodlands Children’s Museum is bursting with hands-on fun and creative events all throughout June. With themed celebrations, live performances, and free activities included with admission, it’s the perfect place to spark imagination and make lasting memories.
Located at 4775 West Panther Creek Drive, The Woodlands Children’s Museum is a local treasure focused on early childhood learning. Its playful programs are designed especially for kids under age 7, blending fun with education through art, music, storytelling, science, and imaginative play. The museum follows a Reggio Emilia-inspired philosophy, giving children the freedom to explore and express themselves in meaningful ways.
What’s Happening at the Museum This June?
Donald Duck Day – Friday, June 6
Kick off the month with a birthday bash for Donald Duck! Children can meet the beloved Disney character and sing “Happy Birthday” at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm. Photos welcome!
Dads, Dinos and Donuts Day – Saturday, June 14
Celebrate Father’s Day and National Dinosaur Day in one dino-mite event! Families can:
- Snap photos in the museum’s dinosaur sculpture parkEnjoy live music from Juicebox Jukebox
- Hear a fun dinosaur-themed story at 11:00am
- Make dinosaur hats and keychains
- Watch live performances from the Woodlands Symphony Orchestra Percussion Ensemble
- Munch on donut holes and enjoy coffee from 10:00am to noon
Fairy Day – Thursday, June 19 & Saturday, June 21
Bring your wings and fairy dust! Meet Tinkerbell (and Captain Hook on Saturday), create your own fairy wings, and enjoy magical storytimes at 11:00am and 1:00pm.
Storybook Opera – Wednesday, June 11
In partnership with The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, the Houston Grand Opera will present a live “storybook opera” performance themed around fairy tales from 11:00am–11:30am. It’s a gentle, musical introduction to opera for young listeners.
All events are included with regular admission, which is $9 for adults and children over 1 year. Summer hours are Tuesday–Friday, 9:30am–4:00pm, and Saturday, 10:00am–5:00pm. The museum is closed Sundays and Mondays.

More Than Just Events: Learning Through Play
The museum also offers Wonderseum Preschool registration for fall, based on a Reggio Emilia approach to learning, and summer workshops for early learners. Children are encouraged to explore with hands-on activities like painting, building, sorting, dramatic play, and music.
Thanks to support from the Montgomery County Community Foundation and ALDI USA’s Community Support Program, the museum continues to make its programs more accessible to all families.
