Children’s Entrepreneur Market Coming to Katy’s Farmers Market at The Dryer This September
This fall, Katy’s youngest innovators will take center stage at one of the city’s newest community hubs. The Children’s Entrepreneur Market is officially coming to the Farmers Market at The Dryer this September, inviting families to support youth-led businesses while enjoying everything Katy’s revitalized historic site has to offer.
The special event, expected to draw more than 500 attendees, will feature dozens of local kid entrepreneurs selling handmade goods, crafts, food, and creative services—all under the big Texas sky at The Dryer, nestled beside Katy’s iconic rice silos.
The market, which debuted at The Dryer in March 2025, was designed from the beginning to be more than a place to buy produce. Developer Andrew (Hadi) Nurcahya, the visionary behind The Dryer and Katy Beer Garden, has long emphasized the site’s potential as a hub for local connection and family-friendly enrichment.
“Katy was built on rice farming, and this market allows us to celebrate that legacy while supporting local farmers and vendors,” Nurcahya said.

The upcoming Children’s Entrepreneur Market expands that vision by giving the youngest members of the community a hands-on opportunity to develop leadership, communication, and financial skills. Participants are responsible for designing their booths, creating products, and making sales—while parents are asked to stay in the background and let the kids take the lead.
Founded in Utah, the Children’s Entrepreneur Market has helped nearly 10,000 kids across the country experience the thrill of business ownership. Now on a mission to reach all 50 states by the end of 2025, the organization selected Katy as a key stop due to its vibrant family community and the dynamic space offered at The Dryer.
The historic setting has quickly become a weekend destination for Katy residents, offering an outdoor green space, the popular Katy Beer Garden, and a Saturday morning market featuring local produce, dairy, baked goods, and artisan crafts, with a miniature train ride on the way. The addition of the Children’s Entrepreneur Market adds an interactive, educational layer to the already bustling scene.
Nurcahya believes events like this are exactly what the space was meant for. “We want this to be a place where people come together—not just to eat and shop, but to celebrate Katy’s culture and history,” he said.
