Williamsburg Settlement HOA Board Election 2026: Three Seats Opening — Here’s How Residents Can Get Involved

February 19 2026

For homeowners in Williamsburg Settlement, the upcoming 2026 Annual Meeting of Members is more than a routine calendar event — it is an opportunity to shape the future of the community. This April, three Board of Directors positions will be up for election, each serving a three-year term.

For residents who care about maintaining property values, preserving neighborhood standards, and ensuring thoughtful decision-making on community matters, this is a moment that carries real weight.

The Williamsburg Settlement Maintenance Association (WSMA) Board plays a direct role in overseeing policies, finances, community standards, and long-term planning. In short, the decisions made at the board level influence daily life throughout the neighborhood — from aesthetics and maintenance to fiscal stewardship.

2026 Williamsburg Settlement HOA Election Details

According to the official Solicitation of Candidates notice for the Williamsburg Settlement 2026 Annual Meeting of Members, an election will be held on April 21, 2026, to fill three open director positions.

Residents who wish to run for the Board of Directors must complete and submit a Candidate Information Form so that it is received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Completed forms may be submitted by:

Unless disqualified by law, any resident who submits the form by the deadline will have their name placed on the official ballot mailed to homeowners ahead of the annual meeting.

If the March 13 deadline is missed, nominations may still be made from the floor at the April meeting.

What It Means to Serve on the Williamsburg Settlement HOA Board

Serving as a director is both a commitment and a service opportunity.

Board members are expected to attend regular Board Meetings and dedicate additional hours each week to Association matters. That may include reviewing documents, responding to resident emails, working on projects, and serving in appointed capacities such as officer roles or committee liaison positions.

For many longtime residents, board service becomes a meaningful way to protect what makes Williamsburg Settlement special — its stability, appearance, and sense of community.

Dave Ellis, a member of the WSMA Board, encourages residents to thoughtfully consider serving.

"Please give this your serious consideration. Serving as a director can be very rewarding and is a great way to serve your immediate community and to contribute towards maintaining the quality of our neighborhood," said Ellis.

Eligibility Requirements Under Texas Law

Homeowners considering candidacy should also be aware of Texas Property Code requirements, particularly Sec. 209.00591.

The Code disqualifies individuals from serving on a property owners association board if they have been convicted of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude within the past twenty years. Additionally, two individuals living at the same residence may not serve on the Board simultaneously.

These guidelines are intended to ensure transparency and good governance within homeowners associations across Texas.

Why This Matters for Williamsburg Settlement Homeowners

HOA board elections may not always generate headlines, but they quietly shape the neighborhood’s direction.

Board members influence:

  • Budget decisions and assessments
  • Maintenance standards and enforcement
  • Long-term infrastructure planning
  • Community policies
  • Vendor contracts and management oversight

For homeowners concerned about property values in their neighborhood, community reputation, and long-term investment protection, participation in HOA leadership is one of the most direct ways to make a difference.

In established communities like Williamsburg Settlement, continuity and fresh perspective both play important roles. When residents step forward, they help ensure that decisions reflect the lived experience of the people who call the neighborhood home.

What Happens Next

Ballots will be mailed to homeowners ahead of the April 21, 2026 Annual Meeting of Members. The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes will serve three-year terms.

For Williamsburg Settlement residents, this is a chance to engage not just as homeowners, but as stewards of their neighborhood’s future.

Those considering candidacy are encouraged to review the Candidate Information Form, reflect on the time commitment, and submit materials before the March 13 deadline to ensure placement on the official ballot.

As Williamsburg Settlement continues to evolve, leadership at the board level remains one of the most practical ways residents can protect what they value most about their community.
