Everything You Need to Know About Girl Scout Cookies This Year

February 01 2024

The 2024 Girl Scout Cookie season is upon us as the tradition gets underway in Southeast Texas from February 10 through March 24. This initiative, hosted by the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, is part of the world's most significant girl-led business.

This year's cookie selection will not disappoint with fan favorites such as Thin Mints®, Caramel deLites®, and Peanut Butter Patties making a return. The Shortbread cookie, a confection loved by many, is returning as well with its new badge, Trefoils®. Adventurefuls™, Toast-Yay! ™, Lemonades™, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, and Caramel Chocolate Chip (gluten free) will also be available. Note that this year, the price for each box raised slightly from $5 to $6.

There are various ways to purchase these famous cookies - connect with a registered Girl Scout, order directly online or visit cookie booths which will be set up across the region from February 16 to March 24. All you need is your zip code to find a troop near you to support. Visit this website to learn more about how to buy cookies near you.

Girl Scout Cookies hold a special place in people's hearts, not only because they are delicious but also because they support girls in fulfilling their dreams and making a positive impact. The Girl Scout Cookie Program, the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world, funds adventures and allows girls to give back to causes they care about. Through this program, girls develop essential life skills and become bold leaders. For over 100 years, Girl Scouts have used cookie earnings to create positive changes in society. It all started in 1917 when a troop in Muskogee, Oklahoma, sold homemade cookies to fund their projects, inspiring other troops to follow suit.

"The Girl Scout Cookie Program has taught me basic business skills at a young age and has helped me to learn the value of money," said Girl Scout ambassador, Katie, adding that the funds raised by the program enable her troop to embark on exciting adventures.

An extra feather in their cap, the Girl Scouts' Cookies4Heroes program allows customers to purchase a $6 box of cookies for direct donation to military personnel and first responders. Donations can be made online, at cookie booths, or through a local girl scout.
