Namaste Curry & Mo:Mo Temporarily Closed, Eyes July 31 Reopening in Copperfield Area
Tucked along FM 529 in the heart of the Copperfield area, Namaste Curry & Mo:Mo has been a go-to destination for home-style Indian and Nepali cuisine since opening in 2023. But for now, its warm dining room sits quiet. The restaurant is currently listed as “temporarily closed” on Yelp, with a scheduled reopening date of July 31, 2025, though a recent Facebook post left fans uncertain, referencing a closure that may be “temporary or permanent.”
Known for its authentic Indian curries, freshly made naan, and flavorful Nepali Mo:Mo dumplings, Namaste Curry & Mo:Mo quickly built a devoted local following in northwest Houston. Customers praised its rich, scratch-made dishes and warm hospitality, reflected in a 4.7-star rating on Google (233 reviews) and 4.5 stars on Yelp (42 reviews).
“We bring the comfort of home-style Indian cooking to the heart of Houston,” the restaurant states. “Our meals are warm, familiar, and full of tradition.”

A Family’s Culinary Journey
Behind the flavorful plates is a story of passion and perseverance. Owner Bikash A.—a seasoned chef with more than 22 years of international culinary experience—launched Namaste Curry & Mo:Mo in 2023 after success with Cafe India and Amar Indian Cuisine. Originally established in 2017 under a different concept, the restaurant rebranded with a goal of blending Indian and Nepali flavors in one soulful, family-friendly space.
“I was very passionate about cooking, so I have done my college in Cooking Diploma and started working as chef in many big restaurants in Asia, Europe and Middle East for many years,” Bikash shared. “I feel so good when I see a smile on a customer's face when they eat my food, that satisfied me a lot.”
Authenticity at the Center of Every Dish
Namaste Curry & Mo:Mo has earned acclaim not just for its food, but for its experience. From the rich butter chicken and chicken tikka muglai to delicate garlic naan and perfectly crisp vegetable samosas, every dish is made from scratch with top-quality ingredients.
The menu is a celebration of Indian and Nepali heritage, featuring standout items such as Chicken Mo:Mo served steamed, sizzler, or jhol-style; tender Sukka Goat; flavorful street-food-inspired Samosa Chaat and Papri Chaat; rich Keema and Peshwari Naan; classic desserts like Ras Malai and Gulab Jamun; and traditional beverages including Masala Chai and Mango Lassi.

Awaiting a Comeback
The current closure has left a gap in the local culinary scene, especially among Copperfield residents seeking traditional South Asian cuisine close to home. The restaurant’s warm and inviting atmosphere, rooted in Indian and Nepali hospitality, made it a favorite not only for meals but for moments—birthdays, family dinners, and casual nights out.
While Yelp indicates a tentative reopening on July 31, 2025, the restaurant’s Facebook message suggests that decision may still be up in the air. As the community watches for updates, many remain hopeful for a return.
