Houston Astros Caravan Stops at Katy Christian Ministries

January 20 2023

This week, Katy Christian Ministries (KCM), a local social service non-profit serving the Katy/West Houston, had the opportunity to be a part of the Houston Astros' fan outreach tour. The highly-anticipated tour, which is back for the first time since 2020, includes community centers, schools, hospitals, non-profit organizations, Chick-fil-A restaurants, H-E-B stores, and other locations.

One of the stops included KCM's food pantry on Porter Road.

The Astros Caravan gives fans the opportunity to connect with current and former players, broadcasters and front office personnel at various locations throughout the week as the club approaches the start of Spring Training. Popular Astros mascot Orbit, along with the Coca-Cola Shooting Stars and Shuttle Crew will also take part in the caravan.

During their stop at KCM, Astros players Parker Mushinski, Joe Perez, JJ Matijevic, and announcer Todd Kalas assisted in the KCM food pantry.

Astros FanFest presented by H-E-B, will cap off the week-long Caravan at Minute Maid Park on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. with activities for all ages, including autograph sessions, photo opportunities, the World Series trophy, games, and much more.
