Georgetown Colony Home Improvements: What You Need to Know About ACC Guidelines
Thinking about sprucing up your home this season? Whether it’s a fresh coat of paint, a new fence, or adding something special to your backyard, neighbors are reminded that most exterior projects in Georgetown Colony need a quick approval from the Architectural Control Committee (ACC) before work begins.
The process isn’t meant to slow anyone down—it’s there to help keep Georgetown Colony looking beautiful, harmonious, and consistent, which also helps protect everyone’s property values.
How to Submit an Architectural Review Request
Submitting your request is simple and can all be done through the SBB Management (formerly Chaparral Management) online portal. If you’re not sure how to log in, you can find help on the HOA Information tab at myneighborhoodnews.com/G1HOA.
Here’s what to do:
- Download and complete the Architectural Review Request Form in the portal.
- Include as much detail as you can—paint color samples, materials, dimensions, even photos if available.
- Submit it for handling by the community manager.
There’s no fee to submit, and most requests are reviewed within 30 days. Often, you’ll have an answer even sooner if everything is filled out completely.

Why Deed Restrictions Matter
Your community also has deed restrictions and guidelines in place to help maintain the charm of Georgetown Colony. Reviewing these documents before starting your project can save time and help you avoid potential violations or fines. The bylaws and deed restrictions are easy to find in the SBB Management portal anytime you need them.
A Neighborly Reminder
Taking these small steps before beginning any home improvement project helps keep Georgetown Colony the welcoming, attractive neighborhood we all enjoy. By working together and following a simple process, we make sure that our community remains a place you’re proud to call home.
