BODY20 Katy Marks One Year of Revolutionizing Fitness with Innovative 20-Minute Workouts

December 09 2024

When Glenn Odell and Hans Reed opened BODY20 Katy one year ago, they set out to provide a fitness solution that was both innovative and time-efficient—offering a full-body workout in just 20 minutes. What they didn’t anticipate was the overwhelming support and enthusiasm from the Katy community. In late October this year, the fitness center celebrated its first anniversary with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, joined by local supporters and members. For Odell and Reed, this milestone is not just about the success of their business, but about the positive changes they’ve helped bring to people’s lives—helping busy individuals prioritize health without sacrificing time.

BODY20 Katy offers a unique workout experience, combining Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) technology with personalized coaching to help members reach their fitness goals. The franchise, part of the rapidly expanding BODY20 network, is revolutionizing the fitness industry by providing a targeted and efficient full-body workout. Each session, lasting only 20 minutes, delivers the equivalent of 2-5 hours in a traditional gym workout, making it an attractive option for those with busy schedules.

A New Approach to Fitness

For franchise owners Glenn Odell and Hans Reed, the decision to open a BODY20 location in Katy was driven by a desire to help others while optimizing their own time. "For the last 20 years, my wife and I have put more time and money into our kids' health and wellness than our own. We had to make a change," said Odell. "With BODY20, we don't have to sacrifice time. It's a 20-minute workout, and it fits our busy lives."

Both Odell and Reed have backgrounds in business and engineering—Odell is the VP of Business Insurance & Surety at Marsh & McLennan, while Reed is the Telecom Engineering & Construction Team Lead at ExxonMobil. Their shared passion for fitness and innovation led them to invest in BODY20, a brand that marries cutting-edge technology with personalized fitness.

"We’re in the Feel Good business," Odell explained. "We want our members to feel good about themselves with the confidence they gain from their workouts, and we want our team to feel good about being part of the BODY20 family, helping each member reach their fitness and wellness goals."

The BODY20 Experience

At BODY20 Katy, members use a state-of-the-art EMS suit that stimulates deep muscle fibers, delivering a high-intensity workout with minimal impact on the joints. Each session includes personalized coaching, ensuring that clients of all fitness levels receive tailored support. The studio also features advanced equipment for tracking progress, including the INBODY machine, which provides professional-grade body composition analysis.

"What sets BODY20 apart is its efficiency. You get the benefits of hours of traditional exercise in just 20 minutes," Reed said. "The technology may be advanced, but it’s still a tough workout that gets results."

The studio's success is also attributed to its skilled staff, including Coach Kristen Johnson, who has garnered a loyal following from members due to her knowledge and enthusiasm. "We’re blessed with a great team," said Odell. "Members can choose their coach, and Coach Kristen is always in high demand."

Community Support and Growth

BODY20 Katy has quickly established itself as a valuable part of the local community, offering special discounts for first responders, teachers, and veterans. The studio is also actively involved in local charitable initiatives, including clothing and food drives to support those in need.

Looking ahead, Odell and Reed have ambitious plans for the future. "We just hit our one-year anniversary, and we’re excited about expanding further. We're hoping to open a second location, possibly on the Fulshear side of Katy," Odell shared. "We’re also looking to continue building strong relationships with the community and helping more people achieve their wellness goals."

On October 23, 2024, marked a pivotal moment in BODY20 Katy's journey, with the Fulshear Regional Chamber of Commerce offering their support for the local business through a rope cutting ceremomy. “It’s always exciting to see businesses like BODY20 Katy thrive,” said Don McCoy, President and CEO of the Fulshear Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Their innovative approach to fitness is a great addition to our community, and we’re proud to celebrate this milestone with them."

As BODY20 Katy celebrates its one-year anniversary, the business continues to offer a fitness solution for individuals who want to make the most of their time while achieving real results. With its blend of technology, personalized coaching, and community engagement, BODY20 Katy is poised to continue making an impact in the health and wellness industry for years to come.
