WHAM to Host Entrepreneurial Camp for Youth in July

June 25 2023

This summer, West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) is partnering with a nationally recognized program, Lemonade Day, to provide an exciting week-long WHAM Entrepreneurial Camp designed to transform children into savvy business owners.

Mentored by experts from Chase Bank, Lemonade Day will empower young minds with invaluable lessons in creativity, problem-solving, and financial literacy through the timeless charm of a lemonade stand. With such a positive and enthusiastic response to this free program, enrollment for WHAM's Entrepreneurial Camp is already full. The program will run from July 28 through July 28.

Based right here in Houston, Lemonade Day is a strategic lesson-based program that walks youth from a dream to a business plan while teaching them the same principles required to start any company. Inspiring kids to work hard and make a profit, they are also taught to spend some, save some and share some by giving back to their community. Since its launch in 2007, Lemonade Day has grown from serving 2,700 kids in one city to 1 million children in 80+ licensed markets in the United States, Canada, Bermuda, six U.S. military bases, and growing. Lemonade Day sparks the spirit of entrepreneurship and empowers youth to set goals, work hard, and achieve their dreams.

The final day of the camp will be at select partner locations for the youth to launch their business. WHAM invites the community to drop by to show your support for these young entrepreneurs as they blossom into confident decision-makers while learning the art of customer service, marketing strategies, and effective money management. More details about how the community can show support for these students will be available soon.
