Registration for Cy-Fair ISD Summer Music Camps Now Open
HS Mariachi Camp
This summer, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD will be offering a free 4-day camp for current 8th - 11th grade students who are interested in learning about and performing Mariachi Music. Students currently enrolled in grades 8 - 11 and in either band, choir, or orchestra at one of our MS or HS campuses are welcome to apply for this camp. Students who apply should have prior performance experience on either violin, guitar, voice, trumpet, guitarron or vihuela, or be willing to take a lesson (free of charge) on Vihuela or Guitarron-Bass Guitar. A director's recommendation form will be emailed to the band, choir or orchestra director of each applicant.
Camp participants will be selected based on application information and director recommendation. Registration will close on Monday, May 8. Participant invitations that will include detailed camp information will be sent by May 12, 2023. Invitations must be accepted by May 15 to secure a spot in the Mariachi Camp.
The Mariachi Camp will take place the week of May 31 – June 3 at Cypress Ridge HS. The camp will run from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM. There will be a performance of the Mariachi Camp bands on the evening of June 2 that is open to the public and free of charge. Transportation and meals are not provided for this camp.

HS Jazz Camp
This summer, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD will be offering a free 4-day camp for current 8th - 11th grade students who are interested in learning about and performing Jazz Music. Students currently enrolled in grades 8 - 11 and in either band, choir, or orchestra at one of our MS or HS campuses are welcome to apply for this camp. THERE IS NO PREREQUISITE OF FORMER JAZZ EXPERIENCE. Students who apply should have prior performance experience on one of the following instruments: alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet, tenor trombone, bass trombone, drum set, percussion, guitar, bass guitar, upright bass, piano or voice. A director's recommendation form will be emailed to the band, choir or orchestra director of each applicant.

HS String Orchestra Camp
This camp is for CFISD orchestra students who are entering 9th – 12th grade in the Fall of 2023. This camp is for students who play violin, viola, cello or bass. This unique camp experience is FREE to qualified CFISD string orchestra students.
Deadline to register is Monday, May 8, 2023.

HS Choral Institute
This summer, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD will be offering a free 3-day Choral Institute for current 8th - 11th grade students who are enrolled in choir and are interested in learning about the All-State process, music preparation, and audition success.
The Choral Institute will take place June 13 - 15 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM The camp will be held at Cypress Falls HS. Transportation and lunch are not provided. The Institute will be taught by CFISD Choir Specialists. Students who sign up for the institute are confirming their participation in all sessions and activities.
The deadline for CFISD Choral Institute Applicants is Monday, May 15.

MS/HS Double Reed Camp
Camp this year is for oboists and bassoonists entering 7th - 12th grade in the Fall of 2023. Thank you for your interest in our camp! You will be contacted in early May regarding a spot at this camp, as space is limited! Please make sure to provide the BEST forms of contact. By registering, you are committing to attending all 4 days of the camp on June 5 - 8 at Anthony Middle School. Students unable to attend all 4 days should not apply. Transportation to/from Anthony Middle School and meals will not be provided for students.
