Pre-Registration for Katy ISD Pre-K Opens March 31: A First Step Toward Lifelong Learning

March 03 2025

The journey of learning begins early, and for parents of young children in Katy ISD, an exciting milestone is just around the corner. Pre-registration for Katy ISD’s 2025-2026 Pre-Kindergarten programopens on March 31, offering families the opportunity to secure a spot for their little learners in a program designed to lay the foundation for future academic success.

Why Pre-K Matters: A Head Start for Young Learners

Pre-kindergarten is more than just an introduction to the classroom—it’s a launchpad for lifelong success. Research from the Children’s Defense Fund of Texas, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for children’s rights and well-being, highlights the critical role early education plays in a child’s development. High-quality pre-K programs help children build strong cognitive, social, and emotional skills, leading to better outcomes in school and beyond. Studies show that students who attend pre-K are more likely to read at grade level by third grade, graduate from high school, and pursue higher education.

By enrolling in Katy ISD’s Pre-K program, students will engage in age-appropriate curriculum, hands-on learning activities, and social interaction, all of which foster curiosity, independence, and confidence.
