Petite Maison Montessori to Open in Cinco Ranch, Bringing a Child-Centered Approach to Katy

March 12 2025

Families in Katy will soon have access to a new child-centered learning environment as Petite Maison Montessori prepares to open its doors. The newly constructed Montessori school, located at 25215 Cinco Terrace Drive, Katy, TX 77494, is scheduled to break ground at the beginning of June 2025, with completion expected by early June 2026, according to an official permit filing. The project will feature a 17,654-square-foot campus, providing a state-of-the-art learning environment for young children.

A Montessori Education Rooted in Tradition

Petite Maison Montessori follows the Montessori Method, an educational philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori over a century ago. The method emphasizes self-directed learning, hands-on experiences, and fostering independence, ensuring children develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills at their own pace.

According to Ms. Rozina Mohammad, Head of School, the new Katy location will uphold the high standards set by the American Montessori Society (AMS). “Petite Maison is an AMS-accredited Montessori school committed and passionate about using the Montessori principles to create the optimal learning environment for your child,” said Ms. Mohammad. “Montessori education is a child-centered approach that has proven time and time again to give children a thorough and meaningful education.”

What Sets Petite Maison Montessori Apart?

The new school will offer a structured and enriching learning experience in a modern, thoughtfully designed facility. Some of the key features include:

  • Premier Classrooms & Facilities – Spacious classrooms, an indoor gym, and a splash pad designed to foster physical development and creative play.

  • Certified Montessori Teachers – Lead teachers will be Montessori-trained professionals who guide children through a carefully designed curriculum.

  • Comprehensive Extracurricular Programs – Students will have access to music, physical education, and language programs, including Spanish, Chinese, and French.

Ms. Mohammad emphasized the school’s focus on both academic excellence and personal growth. “In addition to academic progress, we strive to foster in our children the lifelong characteristic of peace, intrinsic discipline, love of learning, social skills, independence, and genuine curiosity,” she said. “We emphasize timeless life skills, such as problem solving, integrity, grace and courtesy, and self-expression.”

A Strong Foundation for Early Learners

Petite Maison Montessori will offer programs for toddlers (18 months to 35 months) and primary/kindergarten students (ages 3-6 years old). The curriculum is built around core Montessori principles, focusing on:

  • Practical Life Skills – Encouraging independence through tasks like self-care and environmental responsibility.

  • Language Development – Phonetics-based reading and writing instruction using sandpaper letters and hands-on activities.

  • Mathematics – Hands-on learning materials that teach fundamental concepts, pattern recognition, and numerical association.

  • Sensorial Exploration – Engaging activities that refine sight, sound, touch, smell, and taste while building problem-solving skills.

  • Science & Cultural Studies – Introduction to experiments, environmental awareness, and global cultures to develop curiosity and knowledge.

Ms. Mohammad highlighted the school’s mission to prepare children for lifelong success. “Every day, it is an honor and opportunity to watch children grow into individual, self-reliant, and confident human beings, bursting with knowledge, curiosity, imagination, and strong personality,” she said. “We believe in their potential to succeed in whatever path they choose.”

A Legacy of Excellence in Montessori Education

Petite Maison Montessori has been an established name in early childhood education for 15 years, with over 1,700 graduates. The school has received several recognitions and awards, including Top 2020 Nominee for CKW Luxe Magazine, Certificate of Congressional Recognition, and Women Honoree Award (March 2020) by Commissioner Ken R. DeMerchant.

The decision to expand into Cinco Ranch aligns with the school’s commitment to providing quality early education in growing communities.

Enrollment and Future Plans

As the school approaches its anticipated opening in 2026, parents in the Cinco Ranch and greater Katy area can look forward to enrollment opportunities and open house events to learn more about the Montessori philosophy and how it benefits early childhood development.

Ms. Mohammad invites parents to experience the Montessori difference firsthand. “Please come and see the magic for yourself,” she said. “Imagine a child who is encouraged to explore and make discoveries, who grows up to be a capable, engaging, and confident adult. That is the kind of child we hope to foster at Petite Maison Montessori.”
