Nau III Award of Excellence in Museums from the Texas Historical Commission, being named “Best Museum” in the 2023 BEST of Bastrop County Competition, and being selected as Nonprofit of the Year from the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce in 2023.
Nicole holds a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, California, and a Bachelor of Arts in the History of Art and Architecture from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
“I was drawn to the Pearl because of their dedication to community engagement and serving diverse audiences," explains Nicole. "The Pearl is a family of volunteers, directors, and staff who are devoted to making art accessible and affordable for all ages. Through a variety of free programs and events, we serve as a bridge—introducing the power of the arts to transform lives.”

Participants, along with their care partners, can enjoy a tour of the museum's current exhibition followed by a craft activity.
“Creating Together” takes place on the third Monday of each month from 11 a.m. to noon, with the next session scheduled for Monday, October 21. Interested individuals must register by emailing Adrianne McGee at the Houston Alzheimer’s Association at ammcgee@alz.org. Preschool Programs
The Pearl offers two engaging programs for preschool children. Little Art Historians, designed for ages 3 to 5, takes place every Wednesday morning in October. This program encourages creativity and introduces art history as children dress up, sing songs, read about famous artists, and create artwork inspired by them. The cost is $15 per class, and registration is available for individual sessions or the entire month.
Art Start is another program at the Pearl, meeting every Tuesday morning for children aged 5 and under. This free program includes story time followed by a related art activity, providing a valuable opportunity for young children to engage in visual learning, creative expression, and social skill development. Registration is required for both programs, and parents or caregivers must attend with their child. For more information or to register, interested parties can visit pearlmfa.org.
