Paris Baguette’s Climb in National Rankings Echoes Its Growing Popularity in Katy
Paris Baguette, the French-inspired bakery café that has become a global household name, is on the rise again. The chain recently landed at No. 112 in the 2025 Technomic Top 500 Chain Restaurants Report, jumping more than 20 spots from its prior year ranking thanks to strong sales and steady growth across North America.
While those national numbers are impressive, this ranking feels closer to home for Katy residents who have made the Paris Baguette in Katy Asian Town, located at 23119 Colonial Parkway, Suite A1, a weekend staple. Since opening several years ago, the café has carved out a niche in one of the area’s most diverse dining hubs, offering families, students, and professionals a warm spot to gather over pastries and coffee.
Paris Baguette began in South Korea in 1988, a concept that blends European-style breads and pastries with imaginative, colorful cakes and an array of drinks that appeal to modern tastes. The brand began franchising in the U.S. in 2015 and has since grown to over 200 cafés across North America, recently celebrating its 250th café with a new opening in Frederick, Maryland.

At the Katy location, the menu is what keeps people coming back. For cake fans, there are timeless classics like Red Velvet, Chocolate, and New York Cheesecake alongside more adventurous creations such as Blueberry Chiffon, Cappuccino Cake, and Strawberry Soft Cream Cake. Guests celebrating milestones often gravitate toward the Rainbow Cake or indulgent Chocolate Mousse Salted Caramel, while lighter picks like Blueberry Yogurt Cake and assorted tarts round out the options.
The pastry case is equally eye-catching, balancing tradition with creativity. Flaky croissants, pain au chocolat, and almond danishes share space with modern twists like the Biscoff® Cookie Butter Cruffin, Pineapple Brulee Pastry, and Strawberry Croissant. Donut fans have their pick of mochi donuts in flavors such as cookies & cream or strawberry, along with croissant-donut hybrids. For those who prefer something savory, options like quiches, pizzettas, stuffed croissants, and sandwiches—including the Turkey Avocado Sandwich and Sourdough Turkey Melt—make the café a stop for lunch as well as dessert.
Drinks are an equally important part of the experience. Paris Baguette serves Lavazza espresso-based coffees, seasonal lattes, teas, matcha, and chai, alongside smoothies, frappes, and refreshing cold brews. The drink menu has helped establish the Katy café not only as a destination for desserts but also as a practical, everyday stop for those needing a quick caffeine boost or a casual meeting spot.

Nationally, Paris Baguette continues to expand its footprint, opening more than 46 new cafés this year alone with another 50 planned before December. Its average unit volumes are approaching $3 million, and earlier this year the brand opened its 250th North American location. CEO Darren Tipton said the company’s progress reflects both community loyalty and a focus on neighborhood connection.
“The Paris Baguette experience is like no other, and we’re proud to see that others, from guests to industry professionals, see and celebrate that, too,” Tipton shared.
Here in Katy, the bakery café’s rise in the rankings only reaffirms what locals already know: Paris Baguette has become part of the fabric of Katy, a place where celebration cakes, croissants, and cups of coffee fuel both everyday routines and special moments.
