Houston Restaurant Weeks Releases First Round of Menus for Annual Event, Including Many Restaurants in Katy

July 16 2024

Houston Restaurant Weeks (HRW) has revealed the first round of restaurant menus for its 21st annual event. The 2024 HRW event, anticipated to feature around 400 restaurants, provides a timely opportunity for the local restaurant industry, which has been substantially impacted by recent natural storms Derecho and Hurricane Beryl. Now, more than ever, the local economy needs a boost and patrons are being encouraged to support their local eateries through this month-long event.

Started in 2003 by Cleverley Stone, a visionary restaurant correspondent and philanthropist, HRW is more than just a culinary celebration. It's also the largest annual fundraiser for the Houston Food Bank. To date, it has raised a staggering $21 million, which the Food Bank has been able to turn into over 63 million meals for food-insecure Houstonians.

"The revenue brought in by Houston Restaurant Weeks has been supporting the restaurant community and associated businesses for 21 years," said Katie Stone, President of The Foundation. Stone emphasized the importance of the Houston community's support in light of the recent natural disasters, stressing the need to "Dine Out & Do Good". Such support can provide a crucial economic infusion not only for the restaurants but also for the city as a whole.

With a diverse roster of participants, HRW promises something for every palate. Restaurants like Babin's Seafood House in Katy, Black Walnut in Cinco Ranch, Copenhagen Kitchen and Bakery, Pearl and Vine, and Federal American Grill are just some of the local favorites making an appearance across the Katy area.

In addition to dine-in and take-out options, patrons can choose from multi-course prix fixe menus for brunch ($25), lunch ($25), or dinner ($39 or $55). These menus are expected to be made available at the participating restaurants through August 1st. For the first time, DoorDash is joining the roster of official sponsors, following the likes of BMW Dealers of Houston, ESPN Radio, FOX26 Houston, and Stella Artois.

Throughout its 21-year history, HRW has not only invigorated the local restaurant scene but also ensured its success during the historically slow month of August. This year, especially, it stands as an essential lifeline. So get your forks and appetites ready for some great eats for an even better cause. Learn more at houstonrestaurantweeks.com
