Cajun Street to Transform Unused Katy Space into New Cajun and Southern Comfort Food Destination

February 10 2026

A long-empty restaurant space along West Grand Parkway North in Katy is finally preparing to welcome customers—but not in the way originally planned. The building at 3325 W. Grand Parkway N., Suite 100, which was slated years ago to become a Wienerschnitzel but never opened due to alleged structural safety issues, is now set for a fresh start as Cajun Street, a growing Cajun and Southern comfort food restaurant.

The renovation project is being developed by C&C Restaurants, LLC and represents a $450,000 investment into the Katy community. According to official permit filings, construction is scheduled to begin on April 30, 2026, with completion expected by July 31, 2026. The 1,234-square-foot project will fully remodel the unused lease space into a Cajun Street restaurant, bringing new energy to a location that never fully got off the ground.

From Empty Building to Neighborhood Destination

Although the space was originally branded for Wienerschnitzel, the restaurant never opened, reportedly due to structural concerns that halted the project before doors could open. Since then, the building has remained unused—until now.

Cajun Street’s arrival marks a clean slate. The renovation will adapt the existing structure to fit the brand’s made-to-order kitchen, customer seating, and service flow, transforming the space into a restaurant designed for both dine-in and takeout traffic along one of Katy’s busiest corridors.

Cajun Street’s Growing Footprint

Cajun Street first opened its Tomball location at 28155 Tomball Parkway in February 2024, quickly building a following for its wide-ranging menu and approachable pricing. That early success has helped the brand expand its presence and begin offering franchise opportunities, signaling confidence in continued growth across the Houston metro area.

The Katy location also fits naturally alongside the broader family of Cajun and Southern concepts connected to Catfish Station, which currently operates in Missouri City, Spring, Cypress, Katy, and Houston. Together, these restaurants have become known for hearty portions, bold seasoning, and menus that appeal to families and groups.

A Menu Built for Variety—and Big Appetites

Cajun Street’s menu is intentionally broad, offering something for nearly every craving.

At its core are classic fried favorites, including hand-battered fish, jumbo shrimp, and juicy chicken tenders, all made to order and served with seasoned French fries and sweet Cajun hushpuppies. Guests can choose individual proteins or combination platters like Fish & Shrimp or Fish, Shrimp & Chicken Tenders, with portion sizes ranging from quick meals to shareable feasts.

The grilled selection brings Cajun flavors to Texas-sized portions, featuring blackened fish filets, grilled jumbo shrimp, seafood platters, and popular Southern staples like fish and grits or shrimp and grits. Many dishes are served over Cajun Street’s dirty rice or cheesy grits, with optional homemade étouffée or spicy Alfredo sauce.

For families and groups, family orders offer large quantities of fish and shrimp with generous sides, designed to feed anywhere from three to ten people—an option that has helped make Cajun Street a go-to for gatherings and take-home meals.

The menu also leans heavily into Louisiana tradition with gumbo, red beans and rice with Cajun sausage, shrimp étouffée, crawfish pies, boudin links, and boudin balls. Po-boys, wings in multiple flavors, tacos, pastas, and fresh salads round out the selection.

Adding even more range, Cajun Street includes a full smokehouse BBQ menu, with brisket, sausage, ribs, burgers, and classic BBQ plates served with traditional sides like mac and cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, and dirty rice. Desserts such as banana pudding, bread pudding, peach cobbler, and Bourbon Street pecan pie offer a sweet finish.

A Welcome Change for Katy

For the Katy community, the project represents more than just another restaurant opening. It brings new life to a long-unused building, creates momentum along a busy retail stretch, and adds another locally rooted dining option focused on comfort food and shared meals.

As construction moves toward a summer 2026 completion, Cajun Street’s Katy location is shaping up to be a place where an overlooked space becomes something meaningful—good food, familiar flavors, and a reason for neighbors to gather.
