July Speaker: Laura Jones: Perspective on how to engage rural Texas to improve Democrat voter turnout for the 2022 Midterm election

Our speaker will be Laura Jones. Laura is a community advocate who was born and raised in Houston, Tx. She moved to a small rural community about 5 years ago where she fell in love with the peace and tranquility of rural life but found that there was a lack of political representation. As a result, she got involved in her community, serving as the County Chair for San Jacinto County Democratic Party. She also served as the Field Director for Texas Senate District 3, under the Non Urban Rural Caucus within the Texas Democratic Party.

Her passion for her rural community has also prompted her to run as a candidate for Texas Congressional District 8.  Laura is not a politician; she is a Mother, Wife, and Business Professional who loves her community and is looking to better the quality of life in rural Texas.
