Kono’s Northshore Brings Hawaiian Flavor and 'Extra Aloha' to Old Town Spring
Aloha, Spring! The wait is over—Kono’s Northshore, the beloved Hawaiian-inspired restaurant known for its award-winning breakfast bombers and slow-roasted kalua pig, has officially opened its doors in Old Town Spring at 419 Gentry Street, Unit 201.
After a soft opening on Sunday, January 18, the buzz is building for Grand Opening Weekend, slated to take place January 29 through February 1. This four-day celebration invites the community to experience bold island flavors, a laid-back surf shack atmosphere, and a menu that’s already won over fans across Hawaii and Las Vegas.
A Taste of the Islands, Right Here in Spring
Kono’s Northshore began its journey in Haleiwa, Hawaii, and has since grown into a nationally recognized franchise known for its “Extra Aloha Service” and mouthwatering dishes. Now, Spring becomes the first Houston-area community to host a Kono’s franchise, joining locations across Oahu, Las Vegas, and more.
The restaurant’s menu features local favorites like the Haleiwa Bomber—a massive breakfast burrito loaded with 12-hour slow-roasted pulled kalua pork—and the Kalua Pig Nachos, piled high with cheese, guava BBQ sauce, and jalapeños. Guests can also enjoy unique options like the Pig on Grass salad, hearty sandwiches, tacos, handcrafted milkshakes (don’t miss the Oreo Cheesecake or Coconut Cream Pie flavors), smoothies, and locally roasted coffee.
Vegetarian choices like the Sprout Bagel and Avocado Veggie Wrap ensure there’s something for every palate.

Old Town Spring Welcomes a Surf Shack Vibe
Beyond the food, the atmosphere is pure island comfort. The interior captures the warm, welcoming charm of a humble Hawaiian surf shack—with chalkboard menus, surfboards on the walls, and tropical accents. It’s an ideal addition to the historic and vibrant Spring, Texas dining scene.
More than just the words “Aloha” and “Mahalo,” the team at Kono’s Northshore embodies a spirit of hospitality through what they call Extra Aloha Service—a commitment to ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcomed, appreciated, and valued from the moment they walk through the door.
Awards and Recognition
Kono’s Northshore isn’t just another casual eatery—it’s an award-winning brand. Recognized as the #1 Casual Restaurant by the ‘ILIMA Awards and voted #1 Plate Lunch, #1 Breakfast, and #1 Restaurant Under $29 by HAWAII Magazine, the concept has earned its reputation through quality, consistency, and community spirit.
