Katy’s No Label Brewing Co. Wins Double Silver at 2025 Fredericksburg Craft Beer Festival
Katy’s own No Label Brewing Co. made a powerful showing at the 2025 Fredericksburg Craft Beer Festival, earning two silver medals for standout brews that highlight the brewery’s creativity and craftsmanship. The event, held June 13–14 in downtown Fredericksburg’s historic Marktplatz, brought together the best of Texas brewing for a weekend of tasting, competition, and community celebration.
"For the second year in a row, following a gold at the World Beer Cup, we’ve received silver in Fredericksburg for Perpetual Peace,” said Tom Paynter, Co-Owner and Marketing Director of No Label Brewing. “Perpetual Peace — #1 in the world, #2 in Fredericksburg. We’re honored either way, and it’s a testament to our team and the Texas beer scene.”
No Label’s Cali Boy West Coast IPA took second place in the Specialty IPA category. This San Diego-style IPA pours a straw to pale gold, crystal clear with a thin white head that holds strong. On the nose, it opens with hints of pineapple gummy bear and resiny cannabis, followed by a whisper of citrus. The flavor mirrors the aroma, bursting with tropical fruity dankness—pineapple and fresh cannabis notes linger into the finish, complemented by a medium body and crisp, champagne-like effervescence. At 7.5% ABV, Cali Boy has become a favorite for those who love their hops expressive and clean.

The brewery also claimed second place in the Wood Aged Beer category for Perpetual Peace, a bold Texas Scotch Ale (Wee Heavy) clocking in at 12.3% ABV. Aged in whisky barrels for over six months, Perpetual Peace showcases a balance of oak tannins, vanilla, and warming whiskey character, layered beautifully atop the beer’s inherent malty sweetness. The aging process deepens the complexity, creating a smooth, contemplative ale that pays homage to tradition while standing apart in flavor.
Honoring Texas Craft Beer Excellence
Now in its fourth year, the Fredericksburg Craft Beer Festival is a signature event for the state’s brewing scene. Hosted by the Fredericksburg Rotary Club, the festival features craft beer tastings, live music, a food court, and the “Suds & Tastes” tent. Importantly, it also serves a higher purpose—80% of proceeds benefit local Rotary community initiatives, while 20% support the Hill Country Community Needs Council.
The Fredericksburg Craft Beer Competition welcomed entries from licensed Texas breweries, drawing 180 submissions from 39 breweries across the region. Judged by a panel of 21 experts, including 13 BJCP-certified judges, the competition was steep—but No Label Brewing Co.’s standout brews rose to the top, earning silver in two highly competitive categories. Winners were honored at an awards dinner held at Altstadt Brewery, a renowned Hill Country destination known for its German-style architecture, traditional lagers, and expansive beer hall ambiance. The setting provided a fitting stage to recognize the artistry and dedication behind each winning brew.
