H-E-B Celebrates 120 Years with Sweepstakes for Free Groceries Amid Rising Food Prices
H-E-B, Texas’ beloved grocery retailer, is marking its 120th anniversary by giving customers a chance to win free groceries for a year. As part of a celebratory sweepstakes tied to the company’s Super Bowl commercial, H-E-B will select one lucky winner each day through June 9, totaling 120 winners.
The giveaway comes at a time when grocery prices remain a concern for many consumers. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), food prices in 2025 are expected to rise by 2.2%, with grocery prices increasing 1.3%. Categories such as beef, dairy, and eggs are anticipated to see price hikes due to supply constraints and higher input costs, while others, including fats, oils, and select fruits, may experience slower growth or slight declines. Overall, food inflation is predicted to be lower than in recent years, but price fluctuations remain a reality for shoppers.

How to Enter the H-E-B Free Groceries Sweepstakes
Customers can enter the sweepstakes by scanning the barcode in their My H-E-B mobile app at checkout. This barcode, which is also used to access digital coupons and offers, will automatically register an entry. Customers and mail-in entrants can participate once per day through June 9. Winners will be randomly selected and notified via email.
H-E-B Partners and their immediate family members are not eligible to win. No purchase is necessary to enter, and full contest rules, prize details, and alternative entry methods are available at heb.com/giveaway.
