Encouraging Learning Beyond the Classroom
Libraries play a vital role in childhood development by providing opportunities for exploration, imagination, and lifelong learning. According to the American Library Association (ALA), participation in library programs can improve literacy skills, critical thinking, and creativity in young minds. Fort Bend County Libraries, a system of over 10 branches serving the community, continues to expand its outreach by offering a mix of STEM, arts, storytelling, and cultural activities to keep children engaged over the break.
“This is a great opportunity for families to visit their local library, participate in fun activities, and enjoy a break from the school routine,” said Michele Pettigrew with FBCL. “We’re excited to offer a mix of hands-on workshops, storytelling sessions, and interactive programs for all ages.”
