With the New Year in full swing, Katy-area residents have the perfect opportunity to make good on their resolutions to explore new hobbies, learn practical skills, or dive into long-standing interests. Registration for Katy ISD's Spring Community Education virtual classes is now open, offering a diverse selection of affordable courses that encourage lifelong learning, personal growth, and creativity.

Hosted by Katy ISD, these online classes provide a chance to start 2025 on a high note by trying something new or enhancing existing skills. Whether you’ve always wanted to learn how to sketch, play guitar, or bake intricately decorated cookies, the program offers something for everyone—all from the convenience of your home.

A Wide Range of Virtual Courses

This spring, the Community Education program includes multi-week classes and single-night workshops across various topics:

  • Art: Explore your creative side with courses like "Collage," "Creating Animal & Bird Portraits Using Acrylics," "Oil Painting," and "Sketching - Graphite & Charcoal."
  • Business: Gain practical knowledge in classes such as "Starting a Business & Franchising" and "Work at Home as a Medical Transcriptionist."
  • Culinary Arts: Try hands-on workshops like "Cake Craft Course 1" and "Royal Icing Cookie Class."

Each course is designed to be accessible to adults aged 18 and older and is taught in a convenient virtual format, allowing participants to learn from anywhere.
