Veterans Day 5K Rally Up Run at LSC-Kingwood

Lone Star College System (LSCS) is honoring its more than 5,000 military-affiliated students, employees, and community members with a powerful, family-friendly celebration of service at the third annual “5K Rally Up Run” on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon at LSC-Kingwood.

Hosted by LSCS Veteran Services, the event is free and open to the public, offering an inspiring and interactive Veterans Day celebration. Community members of all ages are invited to walk, jog, or run the 5K course, alongside veterans, active-duty service members, military families, and supporters.

In addition to the 5K run, attendees can enjoy:

• A coloring flag station for kids
• Games and family activities
• Refreshments
• A thank-you note station where participants can write heartfelt messages to veterans

This Veterans Day, LSCS will also give its 500+ veteran employees a paid day off on November 11—a gesture meant to honor their service and sacrifice. Earlier this year, LSCS was awarded the 2025 Veteran Education Excellence Recognition Gold Award for its robust services supporting military-affiliated students, including academic advising, mental health care, disability services, and career transition programs.

The 5K Rally Up Run is more than just a race—it’s a show of gratitude and community spirit, reminding Houstonians of the strength and resilience of those who served.
