Description

The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra is set to delight families with a special performance of The Orchestra Games on April 12, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Jodie E. Stavinoha Amphitheater at George Memorial Library. This exciting and interactive concert is a fantastic way to introduce children to the world of music.

Event Highlights:
  • The Orchestra Games, composed by Gregory Smith, presents orchestral instruments and sections as Olympic athletes competing in fun “events” like the low-note limbo and the fast-note dash.
  • Bowl of Twelve Notes, also by Gregory Smith, takes the audience through a whimsical history of music using only 12 musical notes, narrated in a fun and engaging way.
  • After the concert, children will have the opportunity to explore instruments up close at the instrument petting zoo in the Bohachevsky Gallery.

This family-friendly concert is led by Dominique Røyem, Music Director of the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra, which has been serving the local community for over 25 years.

The concert is free and open to the public, with outdoor seating available. Attendees are encouraged to bring cushions for comfort, as the amphitheater seating is concrete.
