Outdoor Wonder Women

Women looking to boost their outdoor skills and confidence can join the Outdoor Wonder Woman series, continuing on June 21 from 9 AM to 12 PM at Dennis Johnston Park. This immersive, 8-session monthly series is designed to introduce women ages 18 and up to the fundamentals of outdoor recreation—from fishing and fire-building to hiking and archery.

Dennis Johnston Park offers scenic green space ideal for hands-on outdoor learning and recreation. The program is led by knowledgeable co-ed staff and encourages women of all experience levels to build confidence, connect with others, and gain new skills.

• Fishing basics, casting, handling, cleaning, and cooking
• Camping essentials and fire-building techniques
• Knot tying, hiking preparedness, landscape reading
• Woodworking and archery
• Series finale: participants showcase what they’ve learned
