Museum of Fine Arts Houston: Art Camp

This summer, the Katherine Tyra Branch Library is partnering with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) to offer a free, weeklong art camp designed for children ages 7–12. Taking place daily from 10:00AM - 12:00PM starting July 7, this creative camp introduces kids to the world of visual arts through engaging, hands-on experiences.

Katherine Tyra Branch Library serves the community with family-friendly programming, educational resources, and creative learning opportunities like this one.

• Interactive discussions exploring paintings and sculptures
• Art-making activities inspired by Latin American artists
• Hands-on practice with color, texture, and materials
• A culminating field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston on July 11, including a guided gallery experience for campers and their families

• Children must be ages 7–12 to participate
• Paper application required to reserve a spot
• Registration opens June 9 at the front desk (priority given to in-person applicants)
• Not open to daycare groups or organizations
