Memory Disco for Seniors

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library invites caregivers and families to a special health and wellness program, “Memory Disco for Seniors,” on June 14 from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

This free, interactive session focuses on how music therapy for Alzheimer’s and dementia can support cognitive and emotional well-being. Presented by Anika and Anish Ganesh, this session explores the therapeutic impact of focused musical engagement on individuals affected by memory-related conditions.

• Live music and rhythmic activities with maracas to stimulate memory and focus
• Caregiver participation encouraged to enhance shared experiences
• Evidence-based techniques developed in collaboration with leading dementia-care neurologists
• Insights from the nonprofit Day By Day Project, formerly The Dementia Project

The program emphasizes how music can restore a sense of identity, spark joy, and enhance communication in those struggling with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Hosted by Cinco Ranch Branch Library, part of the Fort Bend County Libraries system, this event supports its mission of lifelong learning and community enrichment.
