History Discussion Group: Archeological Discovery at Dimond Knoll

Each month, we talk about a different book, article, or historical topic. In August, Sharon Menegaz, a member of the Texas Historical Commission’s Stewards Network, will speak on one of the most significant archeological discoveries in Harris County – Dimond Knoll. Come out to Kleb Woods Nature Preserve & Center to learn about the more than 1,000 artifacts that were recovered from the site during its excavation in 2012. The talk will include slides of the artifacts recovered, the story of our outreach programs, and the research still going on into the peoples that have lived and traded goods in our area since Paleoindian times.
