Interested in growing your own fresh vegetables and herbs? The Fort Bend County Master Gardeners are hosting a free class, "Warm Season Vegetables & Herbs," on April 5 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Bud O'Shieles Community Center.

This 90-minute session, led by Master Gardener Deborah Birge, will guide you through the essentials of starting your spring and summer garden. Whether you're an experienced gardener or a beginner, this class offers valuable insights for all.

What you’ll learn:
  • How to plan and maintain a successful spring and summer vegetable garden.
  • Best vegetable and herb varieties for Fort Bend County’s climate.
  • Tips for growing plants in containers or small spaces.
  • Introduction to drip and sprinkler irrigation systems for effective watering.

The class is part of the "Grow Your Own" series, organized by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Fort Bend County Master Gardeners. Registration is required and all participants will receive access to a class recording.
