Immerse yourself in the rich history and vibrant culture of the African American community through artwork, live performances, and engaging art activities inspired by influential Black artists. At 10:30 a.m., a storyteller from The Michelle Project will read “Bill Picket: Rodeo-Ridin’ Cowboy,” by Andrea Pinkney, followed by a related craft. Additional art activities will be available throughout the event. At 11 a.m., don’t miss a West African drumming performance by Joy of Djembe Drumming! During the event, the museum will also give away 50 Chromebooks (one per family) to families who can provide proof of free and reduced lunch. Family Day is free and open to the community, but registration is requested at pearlmfa.org.
