
Celebrate Asian Heritage with Chinese Dance at Cinco Ranch Library

Families in Katy, Texas, are invited to experience a dynamic celebration of Chinese culture as Fort Bend County Libraries presents “Journey Through Asia”, a vibrant dance performance hosted at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library on Wednesday, July 16, with showtimes at 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM. This cultural showcase is part of the library’s 2025 Summer Reading Challenge and is specially designed for school-aged children entering grades 1 through 5.
Held in the library’s Meeting Room at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd, Katy, TX 77494, this free program offers an immersive look at the traditions, history, and diverse ethnic communities of China through the universal language of dance.
What to Expect:

- Professionally choreographed by nonprofit troupe Dance of Asian America, founded by Janie Yao
This visually engaging performance highlights both classical and folk dances that have long been essential to China’s cultural storytelling. The performers, affiliated with Young Audiences of Houston, bring a unique learning experience to children, helping them connect with global cultures in a meaningful and entertaining way.
