The Environmental Education Center offers hands-on environmental learning and outdoor exploration for all ages. This event highlights the important role of beavers as keystone species—organisms that have a disproportionately large effect on their ecosystems.

Event features include:
  • An engaging presentation about beavers and their critical role in maintaining healthy wetlands and waterways
  • A hands-on craft where participants build miniature beaver dams to test if they can stop the flow of water
  • Expert guidance from a knowledgeable Harris County Precinct 4 Naturalist
  • Family-friendly educational fun perfect for kids, students, and adults alike

Participants are encouraged to register by emailing johnpaullanding@hcp4.net or calling 713-274-3131. Experience firsthand why beavers are vital to their habitats and enjoy an interactive learning day at John Paul Landing!
