Williamsburg Settlement Announces April 2026 Yard of the Month

Williamsburg Settlement Announces April 2026 Yard of the Month

April 16 2026

We would like to congratulate the yard of the month winners for April, Frank and Janis Hosak of 22307 Bucktrout Ln. Frank and Janis have lived in the settlement since 1979 (a short 47 years) their house was in section 2 and Bucktrout Lane pavement stopped at their driveway with barricades across the street.

They were drawn to the neighborhood because they like living in a small community. The school district was great for raising and educating their two daughters and they like the central location near I-10, Especially being able to be from the driveway to I-10 in less than five minutes.

While they employ a landscaper for mowing and edging, Frank does the planting replanting and rearranging of the layout of their landscape in recent years they did have some help with clean out for the beds and mulching with pine bark mulch and nuggets, which is the same they’ve used since they’ve moved in. The original landscape layout was designed by Cornelius’s nursery. They tweaked it, rearranged it replanted new plants several times and they added the Oak trees to shade the yard and the house. Most recently they replaced the bed edging with stacked stone, which is lovely.

Their front landscaping includes azaleas, Varigated Pittosporum, Dwarf Yaupon Holly, Loropetalum, Indian Hawthorne, Cuban gold Duranta, Pigmy date palms, Foxtails and Faux lilies. They fill in the foxtail fern and lilies and bedding plants for color. These plants do well in the weather, although some of their plants do you have to be protected for the freeze but if covered they will bounce back in the spring.

Janis’ favorites are the azaleas and Foxtel Fern Frank likes the bright gold green color that the Cuban gold Dorrantas provide.

Janis is retired from a banking career, and Frank is a semi retired, mechanical project engineer, With their free time if they’re not in the yard, they love spending time with their four granddaughters!

This is not the first time you will have seen the Hosak’s yard being spotlighted. With great attention to detail and a beautiful display every Christmas we are very lucky to have such a stunning addition to the neighborhood. Thank you, Frank and Janis for giving us something beautiful to look at!!

Congratulations Frank and Janis!!

Warm regards,

Williamsburg Settlement HOA
